The Board of Health helps to protect the health and well-being of the Plympton residents. It handles issues such as dog bites, rabies, and Lyme disease and Communicable Disease Reporting Records. Flu shots and nursing issues are handled thru contracts with Partners Health Care at Home.

Permits issued by the Board of Health include Restaurant, Food Service and Handling, both retail and service including biannual inspections of all. The BOH also issues permits for wells, septic system installations, Installers Permits, Title V Inspector Permits, Septic and Rubbish Haulers Permits and arranges for Percolation Tests.
